Saudi Arabia     Type of Goverment   Saudi Arabia is an Islamic monarchy. It is ruled by the house of Saud. Abdul-Aziz al Saud untited the Arabian peninsula in 1932. Saudi Arabia was named after him and became the new country’s first king. The king of Saudi Arabia is also prime minister. An appointed Council of Minister advises the king.

There is no elected government.   language   Arabic is the official language, but Saudis can also speak English.   Education   Many older Saudis are still illiterate. most post office are surrounded by scribes who write letters for the illiterate. The education for male are better than for females.   Religion   Saudi Arabia is an Islamic nation.

Saudi citizens are Muslim. There are not permitted to change the religions. The official religion of Saudi Arabia is the Wahabi branch of Sunni Islam. Saudi Arabia is the home to the two holiest cities of Islam. Mecca and Medina. Al lot of Muslims from all over the world make the pilgrimage to Mecca each year.

  Demographics   The population ist just ofer fourteen million. 90 percent of the citizen are Arabs. and the majority belonging to the Wahabi branch of Sunni Islam. 10 percent are mostly African or Asian.
